Savannah-Suntours and Klipfontein Ranch

Klipfontein Ranch is a 710 ha Cattle ranch, with about 180 cattle, 10 horses and a little pony, 5 dogs, many cats because Sarah is a registered breeder for Serengeti, Bengal, Oriental & Siamese (Spotted Felines Cattery), and natural wildlife, consisting of Kudus, Duiker, Steenbok, Warthog, meercats and mongoose, hares and lots of birds.

The nearest town, Vryburg, is 30 km away, and lies in a depression. Therefore our ranch is very well situated for Stargazing and Astronomie. This has led to 3 big amateur telescopes being stationed here by German Astronomers, one 20”, and two 16” Dobsons.

Vryburg was the capital of the Boere Republic Stellaland, which means Starland, because of the exceedingly bright night skies.

Apart from attracting a lot of astronomers from Germany and France, we receive many holidaymakers who want to relax in peace and quiet. Some enjoy horse-riding in the natural feldt, swimming or relaxing in the hammock, and having a South African barbeque in our Boma.

​
